This challenging renovation on the West Side transformed a dark and partitioned, living
space into a bright and sunny eat in- kitchen. The owners of this apartment wanted to
create a space large enough for their family and friends to enjoy meals together. To help
them in achieving this goal we removed walls separating the dining room, the kitchen,
and a half bath to create the inviting space shown here. The cabinetry is custom
white- painted maple wood. High-end stainless steel fixtures and appliances were added
to complement the pure look of the white cabinetry, adding an increasingly modern touch
to this space. The granite countertops and natural stone backsplash are durable and
attractive accents to this space. The under cabinet lighting was added as a finishing
touch. This kitchen is a testimony to our skill in creating open and spacious areas
from the boxy and closeted feel of many New York City apartments.
